NJ PAC announces the return of the James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival.

The festival will be returning to NJ PAC this fall for its 2nd year. The week long event commemorates the legacy of one of Newark’s own, James Moody. John Schreiber, CEO of the performing arts center, says his vision is to make the festival an annual event.

“Moody resonated with people, people understood why Moody was special and he exemplifies the spirit of Jazz so we felt like we won last year and we wanted to come back and do it again.”

Schreiber says he hopes the festival will bring back the diversity and heritage of jazz in Newark. The festival kicks off this November.
