The New York City council is putting money into helping immigrant communities in response to President Trump's recent actions.

Councilmember Diana Ayala says the Trump Administration threatens to put fear and chaos into New York communities while referencing Trump's deportation plans and threat to withhold federal aid.

"It is clear that work ahead is long and difficult as we navigate this unpredictable administration whose intentions and actions poise to harm us rather than support everyday people."

The council signed off on two million dollars in emergency funding that will go toward immigrant advocacy groups across the city. Some of the money will go toward Know Your Rights training and immigrant services.
