Prices at supermarkets are rising much slower than those at restaurants, and some prices are actually declining.

There's very high demand for food at pantries across New York City.

The CEO of City Harvest Jilly Stephens, says there's one million more visits per month at food pantries the organization serves compared to just prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We continue to see a persistent high need for emergency food."

She's urging New Yorkers to help by either volunteering for City Harvest in helping rescue food that would otherwise be going to waste or donate money to City Harvest.

"For every dollar that is donated to City Harvest, It could help us feed two New Yorkers for a day and right now all gifts to City Harvest are being matched dollar for dollar."

City Harvest has 23 trucks on the road every day, taking food to hundreds of soup kitchens and food pantries.
