Mayor Eric Adams is still urging New Yorkers to cut back on their water usage despite some recent rain and rain the forecast for Thanksgiving. Adams says the drought warning for New York City continues.
"People say it rained why can't we lift it? We need a heck of a lot more more rain than what we saw not only rain down here but upstate where our reservoirs are located."
Adams says reservoir water levels are still no where near where they need to be for this time of year after the city experienced one of the longest dry streaks in its history this fall. New Yorkers are asked to take shorter showers, fix leaky faucets and take other water conservation measures.
