Bodega owners are sounding off following a surge in bodega robberies in New York City.
Fernando Mateo with the The United Bodegas of America is calling on bodega owners to arm themselves after 16 bodegas got robbed in just the last two weeks of April including five robberies in one day.
"The month of April has been the month from hell for us. April 23rd, we had five armed robberies.
The NYPD says the robberies are under investigation. The union is offering a 10 thousand dollar reward for anyone helping catch those responsible.
