Hochul Invites Texas Women Seeking Abortions To Come To NY

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order banning all elective medical procedures, including abortions, during the coronavirus outbreak. The ban extends to medication abortions.

New York’s governor is lending a hand to women in Texas seeking an abortion following a new strict abortion law in that state.

After hearing that Texas banned abortions after about six weeks, Governor Kathy Hochul says New York will be a safe harbor women from the Lone Star State.

“Who don’t have the leadership in their state to look out for their rights and so yes, I invite them all to move to New York, love to have you come.”

Hochul is launching a public awareness campaign about New York’s laws connected to abortion access.

“I am going to make sure every very single woman in the state of New York knows her rights.”

She also says New York lawmakers are updating regulations so abortion medication can be accessed through telemedicine.
