Vaccine Buses Headed To NYC Beaches

New York City continues the effort to try and get people to take the coronavirus vaccine. Mobile vaccine buses will be headed to New York City beaches for Memorial Day weekend to make in convenient for beach goers to get the shot. Meanwhile, another incentive is being rolled out. Former Knicks Star Allen Houston says the vaccine shot will be offered on select days at Madison Square Garden.

“While supplies last, we’ll be providing Knicks merchandise to everyone vaccinated at the garden and we’ll be entering everyone into a raffle to receive Knicks tickets.

The city so far has administered about eight million vaccine doses.

New York City is trying to give a boost to businesses struggling during the pandemic by offering an incentive to shop local.
President of the City’s Hospitality Alliance and restaurant owner Melba Wilson says the comeback of the city depends on the revitalization of small businesses.

“We are asking you, we are encouraging you to kind of put the big box stores aside for a minute and focus on the businesses within your community.”

So as part of a new initiative for the next month, the city is offering folks a chance to win 50 dollar gift cards by taking photos of yourself shopping local and submitting them at NYC.gov/ShopYourCity.
