More Money Headed Directly To NYC School Principals
New York City is sending a huge amount of money to schools under the Fair Student Funding Formula.
For years the city has not gotten its fair share of money through the Fair Student Funding Formula because of state budget shortfalls but now Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter says it’s fully funded for the first time ever. That means an additional 600 million dollars will go directly to principals.
“Principals can use this money to hire staff, materials, supplies and more at a time when our students need an incredible amount of academic and social, emotional care.”
This new investment impacts more than 11-hundred schools.
