First Name Basis is a weekly jazz concert series in Hastings-On-Hudson New York. The concert series features the finest vocalists and instrumentalists from the NYC jazz community. The first set comprises selections that feature the current week's artists. The second set is an open jam for both musicians and singers. This series was started in January of 2019 by bassist John Lang to bring the great sounds of modern jazz to his hometown every week. Please join our jazz community for a swinging night where everyone is on a First Name Basis! Reservations recommended as the intimate room fills fast every Thursday night.

Arts Culture and Community Activism (ACCA) Creates is an organization founded by Dr. Marcia Heard. ACCA Creates is a Newark-based organization that works toward giving underprivileged children access to the arts and teaching them to use them to advocate for themselves and unite communities.
Every summer, ACCA Creates runs a free summer dance intensive for older participants, ranging from age 13 to 18 from Monday, June 27 to Friday, July 1. Students will spend their time specializing in hip hop and contemporary and the program will conclude with a performance.
Love In Bloom is a performance featuring dance, music, visual art and poetry. It explores the breadth, depth and power of love using artistic expressions to convey love as the supreme emotion, a healing power and the most valuable gift. This original production has become another signature UTA tradition bringing together notable and stellar jazz musicians, vocalists, choreographers, dancers, and creators. Many cast and crew members are recognizable from UTA’s annual Jazz Festivals and the arts and culture community including Antoinette Montague, Leopoldo F. Fleming, Dorian Lake, Jeannine Otis, Kris Kaiser, Professor Charles Thomas, and more! Enjoy a perfect night under the stars with family and friends, or a romantic evening for two, on the Northeast Meadow at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden in Staten Island, NY.
