Guitarist and singer Lionel Loueke talks with WBGO's Tim Wilkins about his new Blue Note CD, Heritage, and his new band for the disc with pianist Robert Glasper, bassist Derrick Hodge and drummer Mark Giuliana. The group appears tonight at New York's Blue Note jazz club.

Loueke also performed one on the tracks he wrote for the disc, "Ife," live in our studios, and discusses his inspirations for the composition.

More from Loueke's live performance, and more from the interview, will be featured on The Jazz Bee, WBGO's new HD2 channel for new and emerging artists, in coming weeks, so stay tuned.

    Enjoy!
