    Saxophonist Justin Robinson talks with WBGO's Morning Jazz host Gary Walker about his new CD release, "In The Spur Of The Moment," and experiences performing with trumpeter Roy Hargrove, singer Abbey Lincoln and the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, among others.

    “In The Spur Of The Moment” is Robinson's first release as a leader in 15 years, and he stopped by to chat with Walker before he joined Hargrove for performances in Jakarta, Indonesia and Japan. Enjoy!

    Pianist Fred Hersch and Dr. Rita Charon talk with WBGO's Michael Bourne and play excerpts from "My Coma Dreams," a jazz theater work which premieres at Columbia University's Miller Theatre on March 2, at 3 and 8 p.m.

    The musical play, which dramatizes Hersch's dreamlike experiences during a medically-induced coma, will be performed with the Ensemble Michael Winther. It was developed in collaboration with Columbia's narrative medicine workshop.

    Pianist Jonathan Batiste talks with Rhonda Hamilton about his role in HBO's Treme series and its depiction of the life and music of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, the influence of pianist John Lewis on his development and style and his participation in Jazz At Lincoln Center concerts which honored Lewis on January 18th and 19th. Batiste also performs Lewis's composition "Django." Batiste also performs at The Cutting Room in Manhattan on February 15. Enjoy!
