Bob Belden and Tim Hagans bring a new version of Animation to WBGO for The Checkout. Hear them perform new music and a reimagined Miles Davis masterpiece.  Recorded July 11, 2011 in Newark, New Jersey.

    Total lack of sentimentality… razor harp edge that is hard to find elsewhere in jazz… Belden and Hagans grooving along the raw nerve of stateside consciousness, musical James Madisons composing an alternative Bill of Rights for all the hysterical madmen of jazz… The Checkout deserves credit for featuring these guys. In this allegedly cosmopolitan area of ours, where else can one hear this on the airwaves?
