WBGO’s Josh Jackson talks to Jack DeJohnette about his NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship, his seventieth anniversary plans, and a new recording, Sound Travels (E1/Golden Beam).




In my thinking, Jack DeJohnette has always been a jazz master. His composition, “Silver Hollow,” is one of the most beautiful compositions. In fact, I would like to perform that piece in my concerts. His words, as heard in this show, are thoughtful and inspiring. Just like his music.
