New York Botanical Garden's Summer Concert Series Resumes

Evan Christopher
New York Botanical Garden

The New York Botanical Garden is already a National Historic Landmark in the Bronx, but its also becoming a popular concert venue.

The sounds of New Orleans will fill the air at the New York Botanical Garden’s summer concert series this Friday night. Clarinetist Evan Christopher has brought along lots of his friends from New Orleans to be part of “Salute to the Crescent City: New Orleans at 300 “

It’s the first of three concerts tilted “An American Tribute”. This is the second straight year that Evan Christopher has performed at NYBG.

Barbara Corcoran, VP for Continuing and Public Education at NYBG, says combining an night of emotional music with a beautiful garden setting just made sense.

Meanwhile, Christopher says the New Orleans sound…takes on many shapes….but for many what comes out of his clarinet is what makes people immediately think of the Big Easy.

If you want to catch the tribute to New Orleans, you can get more information at www.nybg.org. The concert begins at 7pm Friday.
