Former WBGO Staffer Carmen Balentine Runs His First NYC Marathon for the New York Urban League

Former WBGO employee Carmen Balentine is running his first NYC Marathon this Sunday, November 4th.

Balentine now works as a Major Gifts Officer at amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research in New York City.  He came into the WBGO studios to talk to News Director Doug Doyle about his training and passion.  Balentine is running in support of the New York Urban League.

Balentine says his goal is to simply cross the finish line.

Balentine is also a big music fan who loves to dance.

Doug Doyle has been News Director at WBGO since 1998 and has taken his department to new heights in coverage and recognition. Doug and his staff have received more than 250 awards from organizations like PRNDI (now PMJA), AP, New York Association of Black Journalists, Garden State Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
