n the very elegant setting of the Cafe Carlyle, pianist Rossano Sportiello and his trio played a tribute to the late George Shearing. Bassist Frank Tate is no stranger to the club, as he played there for ten years with the late Bobby Short; Dennis Mackrel performed with George Shearing. What a team! They truly brought the spirit and music of Shearing to life. The gig runs through June 22.
