The great Maria Schneider, who, early in her career served as copyist to arranger Gil Evans, seems very pleased listening to Ryan Truesdell conduct the Gil Evans Centennial Project at The Jazz Standard. Truesdell, who served as Schneider’s copyist, has recorded the CD, Centennial, with the same orchestra that appeared at The Standard.
