I have a new camera that’s great in really low light situations. That’s why I tried it out first time at the Jazz Standard, where pianist /composer Larry Willis was making his first New York appearance in many years during the last week of August. It was SO dark in the room when Willis, who started his career playing with Jackie McClean, and is noted for his work with Blood, Sweat & Tears, had the audience mesmerized. The camera, a Canon 5D Mark II, lives up to its reputation for “aceing” the dark.
