One Response to “Henry Grimes”

  1. 1
    Margaret Grimes:

Henry Grimes (upright bass, violin) led a trio with Geri Allen (piano) and Jeff “Tain” Watts (drums) in the great Jazz for Obama concert, and amazed and delighted the audience, most of whom had heard of him but hadn’t heard him play in recent years (though he has played nearly 500 concerts since his return to the music world in 2003 after 35 years away). The composition Henry chose to play was “Freedom Jazz Dance” by Eddie Harris, chosen particularly for its relevance on this occasion and for these times. Henry’s Web site is http://henrygrimes.com.
