WBGO radio has a new, live Tuesday night series at the beautiful 54 Below club. On opening night, The Peter Bernstein
Quartet (Peter on guitar, John Webber on bass, Jimmy Cobb on drums and Harold Mabern on piano, were joined by guest
aritst Frank Wess. After the band played “Neve Let Me Go,” pianist Harold Mabern regaled the audience with tales of the difficulty
of the piece, said he was thankful it was called in “F,” and said he had watched as unnamed “famous” musicians were defeated by the piece.
