91 year-old Frank Wess, a member of the original Count Basie Band, brought his quartet ( Ilya Lushtak (guitar) Michael Weiss (piano), Tal Ronan (bass) and Winard Harper (drums) to Smoke Jazz on March 29. Here, Frank plays a heartbreakingly-beautiful arrangement of “Never Let Me Go,” on tenor saxophone.
