New Jersey Matters with Governor Jon Corzine, the live call-in show that premiered this past summer on WBGO Jazz88.3FM and wbgo.org returns Wednesday, January 10th at 8 p.m. WBGO listeners will have the opportunity to ask the governor questions the day after his State of the State address. The hour-long, call-in show, produced by the WBGO News Department, is hosted by WBGO State House Reporter Eugene Sonn.
"Our listeners won't have to wait in line to get answers about Governor Corzine's agenda for 2007," says Sonn. "Last time the Governor didn't hold back at all. I'm sure our listeners will jump at the chance to press him about property tax reform and other major issues."
Topics may include New Jersey's initiative on stem cell research, newly authorized needle exchange program for IV-drug users, the state's ongoing efforts on property tax reform, and how to balance the budget without benefit of a tax hike.
"It has been very fulfilling," says Sonn, "to host this unscripted call-in show with the Governor." Eugene Sonn has been the WBGO State House reporter in Trenton since 1998. He also appears frequently on NJN Television's Reporter's Roundtable and NJN's Inside Trenton, hosted by Steve Adubato and Rafael Pirroman.
New Jersey Matters with Governor Jon Corzine is another way the WBGO News Department honors its commitment to area residents.
