Clean Ocean Action continues its statewide Sandy cleanup effort this weekend with 30 projects its calling Marsh Madness.
Various statewide environmental groups, faith based organizations, and various volunteer groups have joined forces to mobilize the massive cleanup effort. Each month the group focuses on one aspect of the shoreline. Lindsay McNamara is with Clean Ocean Action
“On Saturday were focusing on cleaning up wildlife areas to get ready for spring so that its clean for the animals and also enjoyable for the visitors who are coming back as the weather turns.”
McNamara says the cleanup effort could take years but says they are still hoping their work now will help prepare the shore for the coming summer tourism season.
