The 14th Biennial Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival gets underway next week in downtown Newark. Another of the poets who will be performing is CK Williams.
Newark native C.K. Williams is among the lineup of powerhouse poets being featured at this year’s Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. Williams is an accomplished poet, translator, and teacher whose body of work spans a lifetime filled with critical acclaim and countless awards and honors, including the Pulitzer Prize for poetry. His works have been described as original long-lined poems filled with complex explorations of the human experience.
“To come so close to a life and not comprehend it, acknowledge it, truly know that it is life, how can I feel so clearly the shutter of blows even the blessed oblivion breaking on you, and not really grasp what you were in yourself to yourself, what secrets sustained you. “
Williams’ work remains a vital part of the contemporary poetry world, and will be part this year’s main stage lineup.
The main stage for the Dodge Poetry Festival will be at NJPAC. You can get more information by going to dodgepoetry.org or njpac.org.
