The 14th biennial Geraldine R Dodge Poetry festival is in full swing…W-B-G-O’s Alexandra Hill was there to catch all the poetic action.
Poetry lover’s young and old have descended upon Newark to catch their favorite poets reading live on stage. The four day festival is the largest poetry event in North America and features poets from all over the world. New Jersey resident and high school english teacher Mary Florio says she’s attended the festival since it began.
“I always connect with people that I know from New Jersey, from the writing world, and I get to hear my heroes, my idols read, so it’s always moving and fun and exciting to come to the festival.”
This is the second time in Newark for the festival which runs through Sunday.
