Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Addresses Students At Seton Hall Law School In Newark

Students at Seton Hall Law School got a special treat today, a visit from a sitting Supreme Court Justice.

Students packed a lecture hall to hear Justice Sonia Sotomayor discuss her latest book, My Beautiful World. Sotomayor made her way through the room sharing stories about her childhood growing up in a Bronx housing project, her work as a justice, and how she hopes to inspire other minority students to pursue their educations despite the challenges they may face.

“Our jobs as individuals is to go back to our communities those we came from and those we may just be a part of tangentially and inspire other kids to continue on this path that’s our individual obligation.”

Sotomayor says one of her goals is to visit with as many schools as she can to spread her message that through education anything is possible.
