New York City Hall. January 24, 2013
Super Bowl XLVIII will be played in the elements in New Jersey, but much of the festivities will be in New York.
"The Super Bowl, is not just a game anymore," says NFL Commissioner Robert Goodell. "It's really a week of events, hundreds of events that take place as a lead-up to that game on Sunday and we're going to make that special here in New York and throughought the region."
Including Super Bowl Boulevard., closing down Broadway from 44th to 34th Sts. for basically an NFL themepark.
Goodell, who was joined by Mayor Bloomberg and the owners of the Jets and Giants, say they're ready to embrace the weather, embrace New York and New Jersey to make a Super Bowl experience that celebrates the best of New York and New Jersey.
