CitiLog takes wood debris from local communities at no cost and turns them into usable wood products. The sawmill operating on the site is capable of processing up to 18,000 feet of urban lumber a day. John Sowell of CitiLog says it provides tremendous savings for cash strapped municipalities.
“Every area has this concern with wood waste it is a problem. Trees come down in storms trees come down for development, trees come down for old age, trees come down when their overgrown, so there’s tree waste all over the state that we are looking to up cycle as opposed to having it thrown into the way stream.”
The company also provides onsite job training for prison re-entry program participants and at risk youth.
