The FBI has added its first woman to its list of most wanted terrorists for killing a New Jersey State Trooper.

It’s been 40 years since Joanne Chesimard, a member of the Black Liberation Army, murdered Trooper Werner Foerster on the New Jersey Turnpike. State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes says she later escaped from prison and fled to Cuba where she was given asylum.

“To this day from her safe haven in Cuba, Chesimard has been given the pulpit to preach, stirring supporters and groups to mobilize against the United States by any means necessary.”

FBI Agent-In-Charge Aaron Ford says the reward for the 65-year-old’s capture and safe return has been doubled to 2 million dollars.

“Anyone out there is available to receive the reward whether they are in the United States or abroad."

Chesimard, who also goes by the name Assata Shakur, is the second domestic terrorist to be added to the most wanted list.
