Christie Wants Hearings On Supreme Court Nominees
By Phil Gregory, WBGO News
January 25, 2013
Governor Chris Christie is accusing Senate President Steve Sweeney of cowardice for not scheduling confirmation hearings on Christie’s latest nominees for the New Jersey Supreme Court.
“To sit and do nothing now is just unacceptable. The Senate president is abrogating his duties and his responsibilities. He’s running around playing politics. How about taking a couple of minutes to actually do your job?”
Christie nominated Board of Public Utilities president Bob Hanna and Superior Court Judge David Bauman to the state’s court early last month. The Senate Judiciary committee rejected his two other nominees last year.
Christie calls the delay in the confirmation hearings reprehensible.
