WBGO NEWS SCORES TWO FIRST PLACE HONORS IN 2003 NJAPBA AWARS

(April 16, 2004) WBGO News received two first place awards this year and seven honorable mentions from the New Jersey Associated Press Broadcasters' Association (NJAPBA). News director Doug Doyle said "I want to especially congratulate Monica Miller (best feature winner) and Eugene Sonn (best sportscast winner) and the entire news staff for a job well done."

  • First Place: "Jazz in Nazi Germany" – Monica Miller
  • Honorable Mention: "Asbury Park Rebirth" – Andrew Meyer
  • Honorable Mention: "Mr. Rogers Tribute" – Doug Doyle

Best Sportscast

  • First Place: "Baseball's Present and Past" – Doug Doyle and Eugene Sonn
  • Honorable Mention: "Rickey Henderson in Newark" - Doug Doyle

Best Spot News Coverage

    Honorable Mention: "2003 Blackout" – WBGO News Team, including field reports from Terry Sheridan, David Cruz, and Jonathan Miller.

Best Election Coverage
