A.I.R. Awards Honor WBGO

Sharful Islam, WBGO’s Web Content Specialist was honored with Best Website

Jazz88 continues its award-winning ways with three Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) Awards at the awards ceremony held at BB Kings Blues Club in Manhattan. Sharful Islam, WBGO’s Web Content Specialist was honored with Best Website for the new wbgo.org site he created, voted best of all the radio stations in the metro area.

News Director Doug Doyle won the Best Public Affairs Program/Feature, "A Tribute to Mr. Rogers," the second individual A.I.R. Doug Doyle has received (the first came in the 1999-2000 awards, also in the same category, for "Rosa Parks Visit.") And the station won as Best New York Metro New Jersey Station."I’m really excited and pleased that the WBGO staff, who work hard every day to serve our listeners and members, were nominated for these awards," said Program Director Thurston Briscoe, “What a wonderful 25th Anniversary gift.”
