CHRISTIE SAYS HE'LL WORK WITH DEMOCRATIC MAYOR OF WOODBRIDGE AS HE TACKLES STATE'S PROBLEMS

Woodbridge - (WBGO News 11/5/2009)

A day after visiting Newark, Governor elect Chris Christie stopped in another traditional Democratic stronghold.

Christie says he visited Woodbridge because the town is having success with vibrant businesses in the downtown area.

‘The people in this town and really hard working regular Jerseyans doing all different kinds of jobs every day working hard trying to raise their families and you’ve got a great Mayor here.”

That mayor is Democrat John McCormac, a former state Treasurer who says Christie is showing he wants to work on a bipartisan basis.

“He’s reached out to the largest city and now he’s reached out to the largest suburb and I think that’s a good signal that it’s time to put politics aside and work together.”

Christie plans to visit other communities around the state before Inauguration Day on January 19th.
