WBGO's Andrew Meyer conducted interviews for his Lost Jersey feature on Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital during the summer of 2007. On the day he met up with Shirley Smoyak, a psychiatric nurse who did her student nursing in the 1950’s at Greystone, crews were tearing down one of the buildings along Central Ave., the main street on the grounds of Greystone Park. Andrew grabbed his camera, got some video of the demolition, and asked Shirley about the history of the building, as you’ll see in this short film.
