Member's Party on the Hudson

This year's Membership Party was an adventure!

Nearly a thousand loyal members showed up at the party barge on Pier 63. Together we mingled, ate, drank and danced to the sounds of Frank Foster's Loud Minority, an 18 piece big band.

This free, member's only event was just for our faithful members. As the sun set over New Jersey, members met their peers in our jazz village - hosts, musicians, WBGO staff, other members. There was plenty of fun and plenty of surprises. Thanks to everyone who made this party such a big success.

Free Jazz Concerts for Children

Members have the first opportunity to reserve the best seats for them and their children to these terrific live concerts in Newark venues each spring and fall. Eight concerts to introduce children to the wonders of great jazz music by the likes of vocalist Janis Siegel of Manhattan Transfer, pianist Eric Reed and his quartet, drummer Winard Harper and his sextet and many others.

Special Events

Throughout the year, members receive invitations to other special events, such as our 20th Anniversary Birthday Party in 1999 and the grand re-opening of our studios in 2001.
