WBGO Listeners Get Fiscal

Nearly 3,000 listeners became WBGO members in our recent Fiscal Finale Fund Drive.  We raised in excess of $400,000 and are extremely gratified that so many of you took the time to express your appreciation for this station in a financial way.  Our goal was to raise enough money to balance the books by September 30, which is the end of WBGO’s 2008 fiscal year. 
Though still counting, it appears that we will fall short of the goal.  If that proves to be the case, WBGO management will make all necessary organizational adjustments to ensure the station’s continued 24-hour operation. 

Not just money came our way, but love in the form of many kind notes. One of our favorites is Daniel’s from New York who said “We NEED this music – spiritually, physically, artistically, emotionally, intellectually…and this music and its makers need us.”
