WBGO & 2 Gateway Free Concert: David Chamberlain & Band of Bones
May 6th, 2015, 12:00pm | 2 Gateway Center, Newark, NJ
Raised in Buffalo, Dave Chamberlain began playing trombone at the age of ten, inspired by watching his four cousins playing in a brass quartet on the Ed Sullivan Show. He began doubling on flute in high school, going on to earn a B.S. degree in flute, and later an M.S. in trombone. Since coming to New York, Dave has added the bass trombone, tuba, euphonium, and bass trumpet to his arsenal. Dave toured with the National Company of Cats, and was the Latin band leader (with Direct Latin Influence) for six years at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. He presents the Band Of Bones, a prestigious group of musicians with enough combined wattage to power the whole of New Jersey!
