Nordic Connect is not really an exercise machine. This is more a vehicle for improvisation. The Jensen Family Band, of sorts. With fellow Scandinavian friends.
I really wanted to see them, but Lionel Loueke's set started late, and finished even later. So the Nordic Connect show didn't happen for me. The road to Oslo was paved with good intentions...
However, I did interview trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, and we did talk about Nordic Connect. Have a listen:

Ingrid is also a member of a Secret Society in jazz. More about that in another post. - Josh

Tonight's edition of "Newark Today," our monthly call-in show with Mayor Cory Booker, will feature a discussion with Police Director Garry McCarthy. City officials weren't exactly celebrating the fact that murders were down in 2007 (98, as compared to 106 last year) but they made the point that crime, across the board, was down in the city, too. Tonight, we'll talk about the specifics of crime data and what the city thinks made the numbers fall last year. We'll also talk about upcoming programs the city says will further reduce crime in 2008.The program airs at 8 p.m. on 88.3 fm and wbgo.org. We're taking your calls (1.800.499.9246) and emails (newarktoday@wbgo.org). try to join us. Otherwise, you can hear the program, on demand, at wbgo.org/newarktoday. - David Cruz
