Happy 80th birthday to Joao Gilberto!- On the next WBGO Journal: Plans to make a documentary based on Helene Stapinski's crooked family history in Jersey City and more, tonight at 6:30.
- This weekend, WBGO hosts two live events in New York. First, Jazz: Brooklyn's Beat features the Matt Munisteri Band at Brooklyn Botanic Garden from 12-6 p.m., and then our own Josh Jackson hosts Central Park Summer Stage featuring Medeski, Martin & Wood.
