    Today on WBGO:

    - JazzSet at 6:30 p.m. features Christian McBride and Inside Straight at the Detroit Jazz Festival.

    - At 7:30 p.m., host Allan Wolper talks with Nancy Gruskin, an influential lobbyist for bicycle safety in New York City since her husband, Stuart, was killed crossing 43rd Street by a food delivery man.

    - On our blog, WBGO says goodbye to trombonist Bob Brookmeyer, who passed away last Thursday, three days shy of his 82nd birthday, with a highlight from a 1986 performance by Brookmeyer with trumpeter Clark Terry and the Tommy Flanagan Trio.

    - Toast of the Nation, NPR’s coast-to-coast New Year’s Eve jazz party, will be back this year, and yes, it’s produced right here at WBGO! Join us for live performances by the Julian Lage Trio, Wynton Marsalis, and much more.
