WBGO congratulates bassist Christian McBride, host of Jazz Night In America, on winning the Jazz Journalists Association's Marian McPartland-Willis Conover Award for Broadcasting in the year 2014!

"Wow! Dig that!" said McBride via Twitter when he heard the news, en route to perform at the Toronto Jazz Festival. Katie Simon, WBGO's senior producer for Jazz Night In America, received the award on his behalf at New York's Blue Note jazz club.

McBride is the founding host of Jazz Night In America, a multimedia collaboration between WBGO, NPRMusic and Jazz At Lincoln Center which was launched in October of 2014.

The series consists of a weekly radio show, heard on more than a hundred NPR affiliate stations nationwide, weekly video concert webcasts, and interactive online content that showcases the best live jazz performances from across the nation.

Congratulations Christian on this well-deserved honor - WBGO is proud of you!

As summer 2014 winds down, we wanted to take a look back at some of the great many WBGO listeners we had the chance to meet this season at our partner events.

Thanks to our partners, we made it out to more than 50 concerts this summer, during the Blue Note Jazz Festival, SummerStage (all around NYC), Celebrate Brooklyn, Montclair Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Garden and Sounds of the City (both in our hometown of Newark), Newport Jazz Festival, WBGO's concerts at Gateway 2 and more.

To get information about these events and others, sign up for WBGO's Jazz-e-News, and visit WBGO.org/events.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
