Booker is a finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, whose finals will be held on Sunday, October 21 at 3 p.m. at the New Jersey Performance Arts Center in Newark.
The competition is the final event of the inaugural James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival, co-presented by NJPAC and WBGO-FM.
Hamilton hosts Sunday's concert, and you can listen to her interviews with finalists -Cyrille Aimée, Alexis Cole, Hilary Kole, Sandra Booker and Monifa Brown's interview with finalist Ashleigh Smith, - as well as Gary Walker's conversation with the producer of the competition, Larry Rosen, right here on the WBGO blog.
