The LaGuardia High School Senior Band performed live at WBGO in the eighth of our student ensemble broadcasts for Jazz Appreciation Month. Click to hear audio from this concert, and at the bottom of the page for all of our 2013 JAM Student Festival broadcasts.

Directed by Kevin Blancq, the 22-member ensemble performed works by Duke Ellington, Kenny Dorham, Benny Golson and others. A full set list and more details on the peformance and performers are below.

The MSM Chamber Jazz Ensemble performed live at WBGO in our seventh broadcast for Jazz Appreciation Month. Click to hear audio from this concert, and at the bottom of the page for all of our 2013 JAM Student Festival broadcasts.

The group, directed by Justin DiCioccio, is Patrick Bartley on alto saxophone, Jonathan Ragonese on tenor saxophone, Leo Pellegrino on baritone saxophone, Ben Benack on trumpet, Emmet Cohen on piano, Jeff Koch on bass, Jake Goldbas on drums. They performed a recreation of saxophonist Oliver Nelson’s 1961 album Blues and the Abstract Truth. A full set list and more details are below.
